Dawn McMillan
Dawn leads Safety Buzz — the same locally owned training centre that's been serving Bonnyville and the Lakeland since 2004.
Safety Buzz was founded in 2004 with one vision: empowering people to see safety from a new perspective. Two decades later we're still locally owned, still in Bonnyville, and still teaching like the job depends on it — because it does.

Our story
From our training facility on 52 Ave we serve clients throughout Alberta and Saskatchewan — oil and gas crews, contractors, municipalities, farms, and families booking a first-aid course.
We provide in-class safety training, equipment operator training, and audiometric and quantitative fit-testing services. And because not every crew can come to us, we're mobile: onsite and after-hours training is part of how we work, not an exception.
Our tagline is two words — You matter. — and it's the reason we'd rather run a smaller class where everyone actually gets their hands on the equipment.
Our mission
Small classes, instructors who learn your name, and training that fits how your crew actually works.
Live fire. Real harnesses. Real gas monitors. Practical evaluations that mean your ticket means something.
Energy Safety Canada, Red Cross, CICT and Global certified — with course content that tracks the latest standards.
Onsite, after-hours and company-specific group training anywhere in Alberta and Saskatchewan.
The Buzz team
Every one of our instructors came from industry. They teach the way the job actually happens.

Rox has been with Safety Buzz for four years. Before that she was a stay-at-home mom for a decade — and before that she did a bit of everything in the patch, from pipe fitting to picker operator to working on a rod rig. She wears a lot of hats here, and if you know Rox, you know she loves to make people smile.

Barb has been at Safety Buzz for 7½ years and loves that every day brings a new challenge and new faces. Off the clock she's at the farm with her horses — she's raised Canadian Quarter Horse race champions and owned two stallions named Sire of the Year in Canada.
Luke brings serious energy to the classroom — students consistently say he made first aid the best course they've taken. He makes sure everyone fully understands the material before moving on.
